A high performance client-server implementation, NetSneaker is a Windows-based network monitoring tool, designed to provide round-the-clock information of network activity. NetSneaker collects information from all the hosts on a network, enabling the user to comprehend network status, assess network performance, perceive the future course of the network and implement preventive action.

Features

  • Single console monitoring for an enterprise wide network using client server architecture
  • Logical visualisation of network through hierarchical topology maps
  • Powerful baseline analysis for proactive problem correction
  • Intricate performance information about network activity
  • Supports different kinds of networks like Ethernet, Token-ring and SNMP Std.
  • Seamless integration with industry standard managers

Functions

Real Time Statistics. On-line information on current network utilisation, number of broadcast or multicast packets.

Error Statistics. Information on frequency of occurrence of critical errors on the network such as CRC, runts, jabbers, FIFO overrun and multiple collisions are recorded and displayed.

Protocol Distribution. Details about the protocol wise load on the network is invaluable in application recognition. Besides standard protocols, NetSneaker supports proprietary protocols.

Comparative Analysis. Graphs are generated for comparative analysis of flexibly selected parameters and nodes. This helps identify bottlenecks which may hamper network performance.

Replay Past Network Scenarios. Backup of past network scenarios can prove extremely useful in optimisation decisions. NetSneaker replays past network scenarios in an easily comprehensible manner at the manager console. A flexible backup facility lets the user specify the backup interval and the rate of data transfer to optimise the current network traffic.

Quick Alarm Notification. Any network administrator needs to know of extreme situations on the network to take immediate action. The user can set thresholds on any critical network error. Once a threshold is violated, NetSneaker informs that an important event has occurred on the network. The unique audio-visual alarm alerts the user for quick action. NetSneaker also provides a special log file viewer through which the user can view the error file which contains the list of errors on the network.

Proxy Agent For Industry Standard Managers. NetSneaker integrates seamlessly with industry standard SNMP managers such as HP Open View, Sun Net Manager, IBM NetView, Spectrum through a proxy agent. This enhances the LAN management capability of existing standard managers.

Information Display On Popular Spreadsheets. NetSneaker provides the unique facility of displaying the voluminous network information in a spreadsheet. Network data can be ported to popular spreadsheets supporting the CSV format. This empowers the user to take full advantage of the various report generation techniques provided by spreadsheet packages.

Network Map Creation. Monitoring a vast network can be very confusing. NetSneaker lets the user customise the network domain into hierarchical groups and subgroups. For instance, the user can group the most troublesome network segments, the high traffic segments, segments pertaining to particular workgroups etc., and perform extensive monitoring on particular groups. Multiple groups can be monitored simultaneously making a large network more manageable.
